There are 1,440 minutes in a day. What are you waiting for? Get moving as much as you can! Your best health (mental, physical and emotional) are waiting for you and your body was intended to MOVE. So often we get caught up in our busy schedule, meetings, deadlines that we build up a wall around exercise, believing that it just takes up too much of our time.
You. Have. The. Time.
You also can be demanding about this time, yes indeed, you can. Stop negotiating your " you" time. You will be a better partner, mother, child, aunt, being, employee if you can have this one immovable hour.
Challenge yourself to be really honest; are you truly that busy? What areas of your life could you not do as much of? How is your time serving you? Being truly honest with yourself about how you're spending you time can be hard or embarrassing because we are creatures of habit and comfort; I guarantee there will be time to exercise in there somewhere.
Not only can you find time to carve out at least 60 minutes per day for exercise and fitness, you can also make it part of your day-in day-out routine... get up from your desk and walk some laps, take the stairs, watch less TV and take a stroll around the block. Studies show that sitting too often increase your chance of obesity, low back problems, earlier age of death, poor mental clarity and stimulation.
Remember, exercise is a way of life and a gift, not a punishment. Exercise will set in motion better eating, sleep, self acceptance, and stress reduction.
The more movement you do, the more it becomes part of WHO you are not some awkward appendage you have to make fit.
For me personally, in my heart, I know the more I MOVE the more I BELIEVE. This has been my mantra all through surgical recovery, and my life really.
I hope this becomes true for you, as well.
With that, I am off for a small hike! Happy Mid-Week.
