When it comes specifically to workouts and/or fitness, I really like to keep a journal. Usually it's a running specific journal from Runner's World where I can write in my daily and weekly mileage, as well as other great things like running shoes I buy (so I don't forget what I like), race dates and PR's, as well as inspirational quotes (Which I am a sucker for!). Sometimes a daily log consists of "felt like crap, but pushed through, feel proud." So for me and my sport, that's always my go-to pick for running training journals.
Fitness journaling doesn't have to have any rhyme or reason. You can jot down your completed workout, or more how you feel that day. A regular "journal" even works great for goals, workouts, or even images that make you feel strong and healthy. You can use it more as a place to write how you felt in a workout that day, or write a special quote down to give you a boost of confidence.
